DiamTech controlled waviness tools are manufactured using Harmonic Crystal Orientation (HcO). Our proprietary diamond orientation method was conceived from years of research and observations of the internal crystal structure and it’s relevant affect to form deviations and wear.
The different cutting directions of the 3 main crystallographic planes within a diamond, translate to variations in resistance to grinding and wear. This variation becomes a key obstacle to achieving low
waviness form and consistent performance. Using HcO, our crystals are oriented in the direction which
promotes harmony between the planes, exposing a more uniform resistance across the sweep of the radius. A properly oriented crystal will not only allow accurate form grinding with less deviation, but also promote a more consistent edge wear.
All Controlled Waviness tools are delivered with measurement certificate and unlike some competitors who certify their measurements in “Average” or “Peak” value, our Controlled Waviness tools are certified in Peak to Valley value which guarantees edge waviness will remain within tolerance regardless of which area of the radius is used for cutting.
